I've never used Typepad - is that a hosted service similar to Wordpress.com or Blogger? I'm not sure what its built-in functionality includes, but I know with a hosted service there's definitely more limitations than with a self-hosted blog.

Very interesting concepts. Using typepad has it's good and bad features. One good feature is a couple of these ideas you mentioned are already built in. The bad part is, it isn't all very easy to customize and some options you mentioned I won't be able to use.
