Design Adaptations is Green
Apr 22nd, 07 | 2 remarksToday is Earth Day. Google makes a one-day logo change, people talk more about recycling and saving the rain forests, and everyone pauses to think about the effects of global warming.
It was recently announced by Dreamhost (my host of choice) that they have gone Green. Yay! I feel good knowing I’m using a service who is conscientious of being kind to the earth. While Design Adaptations is just a little-bitty blog and one-woman show, it’s nice to know I’m doing my (very minuscule) part in helping out. Or rather, at least I’m happy to not be contributing to making things worse.
Interested in making the switch to a Green company to host your site? Take a look at Dreamhost. Sign up for any monthly account using my promo code da_go_green, and get your setup fees waived up to $50. That means you pay nada, niente, nothing for the Crazy Domain Insane starter account! Aside from being a fun hosting company, entertaining newsletter writers, and innovative thinkers… they obviously have goals for the greater good of us all. I admire that.

Hey Charity,
Thanks for commenting on my BAYB post.
This is a cool blog layout-is this your work as well? Very nice.
Unless I’m being stupid (and it does happen!) it doesn’t appear immediately apparent from the homepage that you can comment on posts? Is that right, or have I missed the comment count?
Good luck with your blog :-)
Apr 23, 07 | 10:56 amMy layout is based on an extremely hacked up version of Derek Punsalan’s October Special Theme, so you could say the concept for the layout originated with him, but the design elements are of my own making. Also, thanks for pointing out that being able to comment is not obvious. Probably explains why I haven’t got any comments before now! It’s an oversight and I’ll definitely fix it now that I’m aware. :)
