Like Stripes? Automate Them

Jun 14th, 07 | 5 remarks

Time for another tool-tip. :) I found a very cool dynamic stripe generator a few weeks back, and planned on mentioning it here, but totally forgot until yesterday when I started working on a new theme. It then occurred to me - I really need to organize my browser (and del.icio.us) bookmarks!

Anyway if you’re a fan of 2.0-ish designs, and haven’t seen this yet, you might want to check it out.

It’s a simple online app whereby you can create and save striped patterns of untold variations. You can also view and rate creations by other users. Need to find something specific? Search by tag, author or pattern name.

If you think you’re creative enough to get some link love from Stripe Generator, show ‘em what you can do with their machine by submitting your URL, and they’ll publish the designs they deem the best.

Great tool to add to your ever-growing design arsenal. Another one I know of, called Background Image Maker, is something you might also find useful. The interface isn’t very pretty, and there are no community features, but it’s worth mentioning.

Update: 9/14/07 The SG team just added four new directions to the collection of stripedy goodness. :) Go, create and prosper!
