Cornerstone Press Nearing Completion

Jan 17th, 08 | 4 remarks

Some time ago I wrote about an idea for a new theme. At the time, the original Cornerstone was newly released and the excitement of producing my first digital product was fresh. Since then the holidays, errands, appointments and physical ailments have all sapped a lot of that excitement. I also went through a slightly destructive anti-creativity period and it really sucked.

The good news is, I’m coming out of the haze. Fun and motivation are creeping back in, and I’ve been hacking away on Press with growing excitement the past couple days. It’s based on the original Cornerstone of course, and so far I think I like it better. ;) I think it will also be an extremely easy layout to modify by the time it’s done. I still have the usual browser testing and validation to complete, but it won’t be long now.

Only a glimpse for today (it is, after all, still a work in progress), but for those who might be following the feed in anticipation of Cornerstone Press updates - there you have it.

Next in the lineup will be making the necessary preparations on cornerstonetheme.com to accommodate a new product. I still haven’t decided exactly how I want to accomplish this… but it probably means a redesign, so that both themes can be equally promoted and demonstrated.

Then again that might have to wait until I get Press out the door first (I’ve already sat on it long enough). By the way, the winner of the free copy will also be announced along with the themes’ release. :)

Best of luck with it, Charity. The snapshot looks great and I’m looking forward to the launch.

Thanks David! The WP marketplace is beginning to move along at a pace that I wonder if it can sustain… but even so I really do love theming and I’d hate to miss out on all the fun. ;)

I like what I see so far, Charity! Are you going to put it up for an affiliate program with e-junkie or anything? If it’s anything like your original Cornerstone, I’m sure it’ll be great when it’s finished!

Glad to hear the excitement of design is coming back to you :) Have you been talking with Brian about this theme dev stuff? I’m sure he has some helpful advice!
