Sitepoint Launches CSS Reference Beta
Dec 13th, 07 |The talented group over at Sitepoint recently announced the launch of a new reference section of their site, called CSS Reference. Currently it’s a closed beta (open only to those who had an account with Sitepoint prior to this month), but it looks very promising.

Whether you’re new to CSS and hope to wield the power for the very first time or you’re an old hand in need of a library, the CSS Reference is designed to be a comprehensive online resource for all.
The index is logically categorized so it’s easy to find answers, and the information is thorough enough to be useful. It covers what you need and leaves out what you don’t. Sitepoint even provided (extremely beneficial) information about browser support and specs on the CSS property you’re referencing.

Clear examples are offered at the top of each page, along with a listing of linked properties for that value. Additionally, related info is offered at the end of each article. The Reference is even set up to function in a blog-like fashion, where you can leave comments and/or ask questions.
So far this looks to be an excellent resource. An official launch has not been announced (that I know of), but I think they’re aiming for the first of the year, after gathering feedback and making adjustments for a period of a few weeks. And judging by the intro graphic, there’s more reference sections already in the works. How nice for designers/developers to have a one-stop shop for referencing the “three layers of the web”.
Now if they would just add a PHP reference. ;)
